American Foundation for Suicide Prevention
The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) is the only national not-for-profit organization exclusively dedicated to understanding and preventing suicide through research and education, and to reaching out to people with mood disorders and those affected by suicide. The AFSP provides education and information about depression and suicide to professionals, the media and the public through workshops, training, brochures and public service announcements.

The Compassionate Friends National Headquarters for Bereaved Parents and Siblings
The mission of The Compassionate Friends is to assist families toward the positive resolution of grief following the death of a child of any age and to provide information to help others be supportive. The Compassionate Friends is a national nonprofit, self-help support organization that offers friendship, understanding, and hope to bereaved parents, grandparents and siblings. Friends for Survival, Inc.

HEARTBEAT
HEARTBEAT is a peer support group offering empathy, encouragement and direction following the suicide of a loved one. It is affiliated with the American Association of Suicidology a national organization of mental health professionals and non-professionals who combine efforts toward the study and reduction of human self-destruction. Heartbeat was organized to help survivors absorb the impact of the self-inflicted death, to offer comfort of empathetic understanding and acceptance; and to support one another towards healthy resolution of grief.
